3L Diversity Scholarship
Each year the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Foundations partners with California ChangeLawyers, a statewide foundation that empowers the next generation of lawyers, judges, and activists by eliminating roadblocks that exist between law students and legal success. Together, we identify and award a $5000 scholarship to a third-year law student preparing to take the California Bar Exam.
This year we are pleased to announce the 2021 recipient of the California ChangeLawyers 3L Diversity Scholarship, Alexandria Hopson.
Ms. Hopson attends the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. While in college Ms. Hopson interned for the United States Attorney General’s Office in Washington, D.C., and the District Attorney’s Office in Winfield, Kansas. After college she moved to Portland, Oregon and worked as a paralegal before moving to San Diego, California to attend law school. Presently, Ms. Hopson works as legal secretary for the State of California, Department of Transportation. She has received two CALI awards in Criminal Procedure and Legal Writing II.
