2012 Float entry from Mid-City San Diego Continuing Education Students

On Sunday, January 19, 2014, we will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and march in the 34th Annual MLK Parade.

(1/13/14 UPDATE): Martin Luther King Jr. Parade – Sunday, January 19, 2014 • 2:00 – 4:00 pm

The parade start time is 2:00p.m. Please arrive at 12:30p.m. at the Parade Assembly Area, which will be at the County Administration Parking Lot (1600 Pacific Coast Highway – intersection of Grape & Pacific Highway). Look for the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association banner. Parking will be available on Pacific Highway and nearby areas, see parade route: map.  Please note parking will be at a premium. Our group is open to all and we are reaching out to the Black Law Students Associations at the three law schools as well as the African and African-American Student Unions at San Diego State University, UC San Diego and University of San Diego and the San Diego’s Community College District.  We found the photo above at this site, dedicated to life in the City Heights community of San Diego.

The parade begins at 2:00 p.m. and there is a good chance we’ll all get together afterward some place fun.

Dr. King left a legacy of sacrifice and dedication to the needs of people other than himself.  His inspiration is bringing all of us together and we hope to see as many of you join with us as possible.
