On Saturday, April 12th, EBGBA members joined a local yoga instructor for a little stretching, relaxation and good old-fashioned yoga workout in Balboa Park. Continuing a theme started in 2013 by Immediate Past President Udoka Nwanna, the Earl B. Gilliam Bar brought back instructor Terra Cosby for a 2-hour yoga class that included a focus on relaxation and whole body wellness. Check out her website here.
The class, which was free for EBGBA members, featured a nice walk through Balboa Park. The group settled in on one of the many quiet corners of the park, yoga mats in tow, to receive instruction on stretching technique, relaxing after a stressful day and generally treating ourselves to the type of peace a hectic schedule can sometimes make seem elusive. “Some of the moves were a little challenging, but Terra was great at providing alternative options and letting me do what was comfortable for me,” said one participant.
As the above photo suggests, the class led participants to a very restful and calm place in one of San Diego’s most beautiful settings.
