By now you have realized that we have a
great year planned for 2009 - and we are
well on our way thanks to the membership
and an outstanding and dedicated Board and
Committee Chairs. The Board of Directors
and Committee chairs, numbering
approximately 14, have planned a gambit
of activities including, working with pre-law and
law students of local colleges and law schools;
instituting an education program for all our members; continuing with a shadow
program for high school students; instituting
a business development program for attorneys in private practice; continuing
programs to develop mutual working
relationships with other minority bars and
other associations affiliated with the San Diego County Bar Association; and of
course implementing programs and events
so that we can simply have fun. We meet
the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the San
Diego County Bar Association's Bar Center.
Please join us!
Additionally, and most
important, the National Bar Association is
holding its 2009 national convention here in
San Diego and we will be the host chapter. I
invite all of you to assist actively in
everything we do. More will follow.
